I’m a big fan of metal that covers history. Rebellion did an incredible job with their viking trilogy and I’m really digging their new album, Wyrd bið ful aræd – The History of the Saxons. This week’s Monday Metal entry is my favorite song from the album, God of Mercy:

We’re going to listen to something a bit more obscure today. Dead Nature is a Brazilian power metal band that I recently came across. While their music contains a great deal of the usual power metal affair it’s also a tad bit heavier than a lot of new power metal:

I know I’m late on this but shit has been hectic around here. Today’s Monday Metal will serve as a belated tribute to Lemmy Kilmister, the man who may have lived one of the longest metal lives in history:

Since Christmas is this week I decided to pick something theme appropriate. Unfortunately I hate pretty much every Christmas song ever created (you can probably thank stores blasting that shit for over a month for this). Fortunate Gwar makes everything better and the band recorded a Christmas song… with strippers:

I know I’ve already featured Magnetic North on Monday Metal but that was before it had an actual music video. Now Alestorm has released an official music video and it’s pretty damn hilarious:

You gotta hand it to Alestorm, it’s a serious band that means serious business.

Remember when Metallica released good albums? Those were the days. Sadly we now get shit like St. Anger and Death Magnetic. But the past should be remember and celebrated when appropriate. This week we’re going to celebrate the days when Metallica was awesome with Ride the Lightning:
