This week I feel like playing some German symphonic metal so we’re getting a song by Xandria:

Monday Metal: No Presents for Christmas by King Diamond
It’s the week of Christmas so I thought it would only be appropriate if I posted some to celebrate the holiday. This week we’re listening to No Presents for Christmas by King Diamond:
Monday Metal: Pure by Mors Principium Est
This week I have another song that popped up during one of my Sunday night metal searches. The band is Mors Principium Est, the style is melodic death metal, and the country of origin is, unsurprisingly, Finland. Beyond that I know almost nothing about this bad but this song did catch my attention:
Monday Metal: Kronos’ Heritage by Krampus
For many European countries December 5th is Krampusnacht. Unlike us pussy Americans many Germanic countries like to scare the ever living shit out of their children. Here in the United States Santa Claus brings gifts to all of the good children and leaves nothing, or perhaps a chunk of coal, for children who misbehaved. In Germanic mythology Santa brings gifts to the good children and lets the Krampus take the bad children to Hell where he eats them (or drown them in a river). Once again Germanic countries prove that they truly understand the metal way of life.
In recognition of Krampusnacht I decided we need some appropriately themed metal. Today we’re listening to Kronos’ Heritage by the band Krampus:
Monday Metal: Land of the Lost by Gormathon
This week I’m posting a song I came across during one my of YouTube metal finding missions. Land of the Lost is the first Gormathon song I’ve heard so I know nothing about the band. But this song is very catchy:
Monday Metal: Unhallowed by Dissection
My weekend ended up being extremely busy. I just acquired a Pebble smart watch and began playing with the developer tools on Saturday. Last night a group of friends and myself began discussions on setting up a mesh network in Minneapolis. What I didn’t have time to do is writing new blog posts but those will likely come later this evening.
Until then I hope this week’s Monday Metal entry will hold you over. This song was gloriously stolen from a friend’s Facebook page. I know nothing about this band but I dug the song:
Monday Metal: Fading Tree by Heathen Foray
I just came across this folk metal band last night so I don’t really know anything about them. But I do like this song so I’m passing it on:
Monday Metal: All is One by Orphaned Land
This week we’re going back to the Middle East to listen to an Israeli metal band. Besides having some pretty stellar music I’m also a fan of Orphaned Land’s messages of peace. Seeing people from either Israel or Palestine arguing for peace between the two regions is a breath of fresh air:
Monday Metal: The Expedition by Tengger Cavalry
It’s Monday and my weekend wasn’t swamped, which means it’s time for another installment of Monday Metal. This week our feature is a song by Tengger Cavalry, a black folk metal band from northern Asia. Tengger Cavalry has a pretty unique sound as far as metal goes:
Halloween Metal: Dragula by Rob Zombie
Fuck it. I can’t bring myself to have a Halloween metal day without posting something by Rob Zombie. So here’s Dragula, which doesn’t have anything specifically to do with Halloween, except the band’s namesake is basically the embodiment of Halloween, but it’s my favorite song by him:
