Who’s in the mood for folk metal? Hopefully everybody because that’s what we’re listening to this week. Folkstone is an Italian folk metal band I recently learned about. The band leans slightly more towards the folk side than the metal side, which is fine by me. I’m really digging them.

This week we’re going to listen to some folk metal. Equilibrium has a new album coming out in August and the band has released a lyric video for the song Prey. I really dig the melody they have going on in this song:

This week we’re going to listen to a new band, Visionatica. It’s a symphonic metal band and if this song is any indication the band holds promise.

Since Sabaton is one of my favorite bands they pretty much become the weekly Monday Metal whenever they release a new song. Last week they dropped the first song from their next album, The Last Stand. The song, titled The Last Battalion, has been receiving a bit of hatred for sounding similar to Hearts of Iron and supposedly suffering from poor production. Personally, I really enjoyed the song and I’ll let you judge it for yourself:

We’re going retro this week:

This week I’m posting something that I both like and dislike. Daybreak is a song by DevilDriver, a band I had not previously heard of. I really enjoy the instrument playing but I don’t really like the vocals so, overall, I’m not entirely sure what I think. DevilDriver seems like one of those bands that could grow on my in time.
