I haven’t posted any classic metal in a while so this week we’re traveling back to 1987. Hall of the Mountain King was the fourth album released by Savatage and the title song is a very good summary of old school hair metal:

I saw these guys in concert in Cleveland as a freshman in college in 1988. Hall of the Mountain King is still one of my all time faves.
