It’s Monday, which means it’s time for some metal. Once again I’m going to throw some power metal on here because that’s what I’m in the mood for. Enjoy:

Monday Metal: 吹响号角 by Ego Fall
This week we’re heading to China for some folk metal. Now some people may recognized this as metalcore, which I know is held in low regard in the metal community. I don’t have time for that type of political bullshit. This song sounds pretty awesome in my opinion and this is my blog so I’m posting it. One of the things that I think make this song interesting is the inclusion of throat singing:
For the record I have no idea what the actual song title is. Chinese, unfortunately, isn’t a language I know.
Monday Metal: Hall of the Mountain King by Savatage
I haven’t posted any classic metal in a while so this week we’re traveling back to 1987. Hall of the Mountain King was the fourth album released by Savatage and the title song is a very good summary of old school hair metal:
Monday Metal: Grace by Apocalyptica
What happens when you combine three cellists, one drummer, and Metallica songs? Apocalyptica. Granted, I’m not actually a huge fan of the band’s Metallica covers but I do greatly enjoy its original songs. This week we’re going to listen to Grace off of the Worlds Collide album:
Monday Metal: The Loser by Elvenking
I love folk metal and I love power metal. Elvenking is a combination of the two and that’s who we’re listening to this week:
Monday Metal: Ministry Of Saints by Edguy
Edguy is one of my favorite power metal bands. Looking back I’ve only posted one song by them and that’s quite a shame. So this post will make two Edguy songs being featured on Monday Metal. Today we’re listening to Ministry of Saints off of the Tinnitus Sanctus album:
Monday Metal: Anyone Can Be A Hero by Crystal Ball
We’re going with some power metal to open the week. Why? Because that’s what I’m in the mood for:
Monday Metal: Rock Religion by Iron Mask
Towards the end of last year the neoclassical metal band Iron Mask released a new album title Fifth Son of Winterdoom. On top of being some top notch neoclassical metal the album has one of the coolest album covers:
This week I’m finally getting around to posted a music video from that album. This week we’re going to listen to Rock Religion:
Monday Metal: Badaboom by Van Canto
Van Canto is a very unique metal band. First, with the exception of a drummer, it lacks any musical instruments. On top of being the only a cappella metal band that I’m aware of, it also has some unique ideas for music videos. Its latest video, Badaboom, is one of those unique videos:
Monday Metal: Arrival Of The Fimbulwinter by Amon Amarth
Minnesota is in the midst of a rather unpleasant cold snap. By unpleasant I mean that some parts of the state are experiencing wind chills of 60 below zero. I’ve lived in this state my entire life so this weather doesn’t bother me all that much. But I might as well pick an appropriate song for the conditions and one singing about the arrival of Fimbulwinter, the three year long winter that precedes Ragnarok in North mythology, seems appropriate:
