I’m in the mood for some power metal right now so that’s what you’re getting this week on Monday Metal. Today’s song is Any Means Necessary by Hammerfall. You know a band is probably good when they have a picture of a big ass knight carrying a giant hammer on the covers of their albums. Anyways I haven’t much to actually say about this song or band as they’re music should make the best case for their awesomeness.

Monday Metal: Quutamo by Apocalyptica
This week’s Monday Metal entry is from a band called Apocalyptica. Apocalyptica is a band consisting of four cello players who started off covering Metallica songs. I’m not a huge fan of covers but eventually Apocalyptica moved on to creating their own songs which are pretty awesome. I admit that it’s a stretch to call much of their material metal but alas they did start by covering one of the most successful metal bands ever which I consider good enough. Sit back, relax, and have a listen to over of my favorite Apocalyptica songs, Quutamo:
Monday Metal: Higher by Edenbridge
It’s Monday morning meaning it’s time for some metal to blast through your speakers. This week we’re going with Edenbridge. If you’ve never heard of Edenbridge they’re very similar to a far more popular band called Nightwish (whom also kick ass). But hey, why take my word for it, listen to it yourself:
Monday Metal: The Divine Conspiracy by Epica
The one great thing about metal is the fact that it mixes well with other genres. You can basically take other musical genres, increase the speed, add some electric guitar goodness, and you’ll have a new subgenre of metal. Take Epica for instance, they are basically a combination of symphony and metal and it sounds awesome as demonstrated by this song:
Monday Metal: Po Syroi Zemle by Arkona
It’s once again time for Monday Metal and this going to be another one of those entries into the list of bands you’ve probably never heard of before. Today’s song is Po Syroi Zemle by Arkona, a Russian folk metal band who is not only a rare breed for being a folk metal band but also because they have a female lead singer:
Monday Metal: Karma by Kamelot
Today’s entry for your dose of Monday Metal is Karma by Kamelot. It’s probably one of the least metal songs by Kamelot but it’s still my favorite of theirs.

Monday Metal: Revolution Calling by Queensrÿche
Last week there were no Monday posts and thus no Monday metal entry but I think I can make up for that by bringing something sufficiently awesome this week. Behold one of my favorite Queensrÿche songs off of my favorite album of theirs, Revolution Calling from Operation: Mindcrime:

Monday Metal: Shipwrecked by Alestorm
If you’re reading this then Rapture didn’t happen, I’m not gunning down demons from Hell with with a BFG-9000, and I’m rather sad and cranky about the whole situation. On the upside with the lack of demons running around trying to murder us there will be new metal to listen to. Alestorm just released a music video for their new song Shipwrecked. Nothing too surprising here as it’s much like their previous material; bad ass pirate metal:

Monday Metal: Twilight Tavern by Ensiferum
It’s Monday which means it’s also time for metal. This time around we’re listening to Twilight Tavern by Ensiferum.

Living the Metal Life
Let’s say you’re a guitarist playing a show. During this show you fall down and that fall results in you breaking breaking four ribs and puncturing your lung. In this situation do you (1) go tot he hospital or (2) continue playing the show? If you answered two then you can live the metal life just as Herman Frank did.
I don’t care who you are or what music you play that right there is fucking metal.
