United States Federal Government Reneges on Promise to Allow an Evicted 101 Year-Old Woman to Return Home

A 101 year-old woman was evicted from her home but later promised she could reenter the premisses by the federal government. Of course a requirement to become a government busybody is the ability to lie and that’s exactly what the federal government did to this woman:

The federal government now says a 101-year-old Detroit woman it promised could move back into her foreclosed home four months ago can’t return because the building’s unsanitary and unsafe.

Texana Hollis was evicted Sept. 12 and her belongings placed outside after her 65-year-old son failed to pay property taxes linked to a reverse mortgage, The Detroit News reported Sunday. Two days later, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development said she could return.

But now, HUD said it won’t let Hollis move back in because of the house’s condition. She had lived there about 60 years.

“Here I am, 100 years old, and don’t have a home,” Hollis said, rounding off her age. “Oh Lord, help me.”

The reason this woman was evicted is entirely irrelevant, the federal government promised her she could return home and reneged on that promise. If you are a resident of Detroit or know somebody who is that may help I’m sure it would be greatly appreciated if you contacted them to see if they could provide any assistance or contacts of people who could help. When our government works against the people it is up to the people to help one another. Mutual aid is the only option we truly to have to help one another.

Death is Never Far Behind the United Nations

I’m guessing few people remember Haiti. It’s a small country that was rocked by a major earthquake two years and five days ago. Billions of dollars were donated to the Haiti relief but nobody is quite sure where that money went. To add insult to injury the United Nations went ahead and brought colera to the island nation after their occupation relief effort:

Compelling new scientific evidence suggests United Nations peacekeepers have carried a virulent strain of cholera — a super bug — into the Western Hemisphere for the first time.

The vicious form of cholera has already killed 7,000 people in Haiti, where it surfaced in a remote village in October 2010. Leading researchers from Harvard Medical School and elsewhere told ABC News that, despite UN denials, there is now a mountain of evidence suggesting the strain originated in Nepal, and was carried to Haiti by Nepalese soldiers who came to Haiti to serve as UN peacekeepers after the earthquake that ravaged the country on Jan. 12, 2010 — two years ago today. Haiti had never seen a case of cholera until the arrival of the peacekeepers, who allegedly failed to maintain sanitary conditions at their base.

Thanks a lot guys. Not only did you offer no help to the people of Haiti but you also went ahead and brought them plague and pestilence. What’s wrong? At least when Genghis Khan invaded a village he only burned the building down and stabbed the men.

A tip of the hat goes to Dvorak Uncensored for this depressing piece of news.

It Must Be Nice Being the State

I have to say it must be nice being the state. Not only do you get to make the rules but you also get to decide when you’ve broken those rules and if you’ve decided you did break those rules you can also choose what qualifies as just compensation for your victims:

Victims of a decades-old sterilisation programme in the US state of North Carolina are to receive $50,000 each in compensation.

I’ve mentioned this case before. Personally it’s downright disgusting to see the atrocities committed in this supposedly free country built upon equality for all.

Speaking of equality does this ruling mean we’re only subjected to paying $50,000 in compensation if we forcefully sterilize somebody? Hardly, there is one set of rules for us and one set for the state. Unfortunately the state gets to make both sets of rules.

To Serve and Protect

There are times when I find myself absolutely disgusted with the capacity humans contain for inflicting pain and death upon their fellow homo sapiens. It seems people with incredibly high capacities for such behavior often find themselves in places of power tying others down and pepper spraying them to death:

No doubt you’ve heard the adage: a picture is worth a thousand words. A picture of 62-year-old Nick Christie could be worth thousands of dollars when a jury sees it.

The photo shows the Ohio man restrained inside the Lee County Jail with his body covered in pepper spray.

“This photo is a picture of a man who is strapped to a chair naked inside a jail for hours with a hood over his face. That evokes thoughts of being tortured,” says Cleveland-based lawyer Nick DiCello who represents the Christie family.

So who is the man pictured in this photograph? A poor son of a bitch whose wife called the police in order to take her depressed husband to the hospital and ensure he received his medication:

“I was shocked. This was something out of a horror movie,” says Joyce Christie. She said her husband was depressed and was showing signs of erratic behavior a few days before leaving for Florida.

She called authorities and pleaded with them to take her husband to a hospital and be given his medications. Instead, he was taken to jail for disorderly intoxication.

Instead he was taken, strapped to a chair, and pepper sprayed until he died. Obviously the officers who committed this heinous act are now in prison for murder… never mind that only happens to mere serfs like you and me:

The District 21 Medical Examiner ruled his death was a homicide because he had been restrained and sprayed with pepper sprayed by law enforcement officers. But to this day, nobody has ever been charged with a crime, and the Lee County State Attorney cleared the sheriff’s office of any wrong doing.

It’s been more than two and a half years and his wife still can’t accept what happened.

The motto found on my police cars throughout the country is, “To serve and protect.” This motto implies the police are supposed to serve and protect us but it seems from historical examples such as this one that they really exist to serve and protect each other. I’m curious if police brutality has been on the rise or has always been this prevalent that has only been brought to light with the invention of the information superhighway we known as the Internet.

Watch the Anti-Gunners Dance in the Blood

Unfortunately I find myself reporting a shooting at Virginia Tech. Virginia Tech was the location of a mass shooting in 2007 that seemed to fill the anti-gunners with glee as it gave them a reason to proselytize for more restrictions on the right to keep and bear arms. As of this writing few details are available. What we do know is one officer and one student have been murdered and the suspect remains at large:

During a traffic stop on campus, the suspect shot and killed a Virginia Tech police officer and then fled on foot through a nearby parking lot, officials said.

A second person was later found dead in that parking lot, the university said.

A university alert released after the shooting described the possible shooter as a white male wearing gray sweat pants, a gray hat with a neon green brim, a maroon hoodie and backpack.

Before the anti-gunners start claiming this as a prime example of why we need more gun control I’m going to point out the obvious fact that Virginia Tech is a gun-free zone. In other words it is already illegal to carry a gun there but the law was made irrelevant by the sheer fact that laws don’t stop criminals from acting. No number of laws would have prevented this event.

ATF Planned to Use Fast and Furious to Advance Gun Control from the Start

To quote Spider Jerusalem, “Paranoids are just people with all the facts.” When news of Fast and Furious first broke many in the gun community theorized it to be a plan for the government to advance gun control. Others called those of us who theorized this crazy, paranoid, or conspiracy theorists. Well guess what? Those people can suck on it:

ATF officials didn’t intend to publicly disclose their own role in letting Mexican cartels obtain the weapons, but emails show they discussed using the sales, including sales encouraged by ATF, to justify a new gun regulation called “Demand Letter 3”. That would require some U.S. gun shops to report the sale of multiple rifles or “long guns.” Demand Letter 3 was so named because it would be the third ATF program demanding gun dealers report tracing information.

On July 14, 2010 after ATF headquarters in Washington D.C. received an update on Fast and Furious, ATF Field Ops Assistant Director Mark Chait emailed Bill Newell, ATF’s Phoenix Special Agent in Charge of Fast and Furious:

“Bill – can you see if these guns were all purchased from the same (licensed gun dealer) and at one time. We are looking at anecdotal cases to support a demand letter on long gun multiple sales. Thanks.”

Emphasis mine. Read that and let is sink in, let it sink in deep. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) were just caught red handed. We no longer have to theorize if Fast and Furious was meant to be a tool to advance gun control, e-mails obtained from the agency prove it. No ifs, no ands, and no buts; just pure proof that this entire scheme was, at least in part, meant to be a tool used by out government to justify further gun control.

Is this what Obama means when he said his administration was looking to advanced gun control under the radar? I’m not sure but certainly would not be surprised if this was the fact.

Let me put this as clearly as possible: your government doesn’t love you. Your government’s only interest is in controlling you and part of establishing that control is disarming the populace. They have attempted to do so openly for most of a century and now that they’re facing strong backlash as people no longer buy into their bullshit about the need to control guns to reduce crime they’re using more covert methods. They lied to you and tried to cover up their little mess when it all blew up. Fast and Furious was never meant to be made public and probably wouldn’t have been if it wasn’t for the unforeseen consequence of Border Patrol agent Brian Terry being murdered with one of these smuggled weapons.

The republic is dead, welcome to fascism.

When Self-Defense is Illegal

New York is an interesting city as self-defense is illegal (unless you’re rich or politically well connected of course). For example let’s say you’re a woman and your husband is a police officer who has just threatened to kill you. Fortune shines upon you though as you were able to obtain his service weapon and use it to defend yourself. In a free city you would not be punished for your act of self-preservation but in New York you go to prison for illegally possessing the firearm:

In a case seen as a test of the battered-woman defense, Barbara Sheehan, 50, was acquitted of second-degree murder last month after her lawyers successfully argued that she fired a gun at her husband only after he threatened to kill her.

She and her children testified during her trial about the violent household ruled by Raymond Sheehan, 49, a former New York City police sergeant. Both the prosecution and defense said the beatings and bruises came to an end on February 18, 2008, when Sheehan shot her husband 11 times in their Queens home.

She was sentenced in state Supreme Court in Queens to five years in prison and two years of probation on the unlawful gun possession charge, based on her use of her husband’s weapons. She had faced a possible sentence of 3-1/2 to 15 years.

I… I weep for humanity. For crying out loud I don’t even understand the logic behind this decision. The woman was subjected to dire circumstances, her life was in jeopardy, and she did what she felt was necessary to survive.

Let’s look at this in another way. In this scenario we will pretend you’re on a sinking ship and you boarded one of the lifeboats to preserve your life. Due to the chaos that ensued during the sinking of the ship no member of the ship’s crew is aboard your lifeboat. Using the logic arrived at by the Supreme Court in Queens you are guilty of theft and should be tossed into prison.

It appears you have two options in New York when faced with a life threatening situation; die or go to prison.

What is it With Police and Shooting Dogs

It seems like every SWAT raid story involves members of said SWAT team shooting the home owner’s dog for no apparent reason. Well it’s not just the SWAT team that has a joyous time killing harmless animals; the Langrange, Missouri police department decided it would be a jolly good time to shoot a restrained dog that was passively lying on the ground while wagging its tail. The following is video footage of the event:

What a bunch of disgusting fuckers. My hope is that this video goes viral and the officer that shot the dog is fired (I’d also hope he is brought up on charges but alas that might be asking for the absolute impossible). A tip of the old hat goes to Uncle for this.

The United States Government Purposely Infected 2,500 Guatemalans with STDs

I have to apologize for a gross generalization I often make. It would be difficult to count the number of times that I’ve stated that governments are unable to do anything efficiently. This isn’t entirely true as there is one thing governments are very efficient at; causing harm. Take for example the recent reports released by the United States government that cover the medical experiments that they were running in the 1940s:

The number of infected people could be as high as 2,500, says the president of the Medical Association of Guatemala.

According to a US report released on Monday, 1,300 Guatemalans were infected without their knowledge to study the effects of penicillin.

US scientists knew they were violating ethical rules, the report found.

There is also enough evidence to conclude there was collaboration between US and Guatemalan authorities at the time of the tests, Carlos Mejia, a member of the commission established by the Guatemalan government to investigate the experiments, told BBC Mundo.

By collaborating with Guatemalan officials our own government was able to purposely infect guatemalan people with STDs without those peoples’ knowledge or consent. All of this was so they could study the capabilities of penicillin. Isn’t it always nice when your government does something that can be compared to the Nazis without Godwin’s law being enacted:

Of these, some 1,300 prisoners, psychiatric patients and sex workers were deliberately infected with syphilis, gonorrhoea or another sexually transmitted disease, chancroid.

Concentrations of bacteria were injected into the eyes, the central nervous system and male genitals. Mr Mejia says this was behaviour very similar to that of the scientists in Nazi Germany.

“It took place in the context in which they [the United States] were judging the German doctors who had been experimenting with typhus and malaria on prisoners of war. The Nazis used Poles, Russians and Jews, while the Americans made almost the same use of Guatemalans,” he says.

Of the group of 1,300, only about 700 received some sort of treatment.

This experiment can be added to the list of atrocities committed by the United States government along with the Tuskegee syphilis experiment and Project MKULTRA. There doesn’t exist a government that is truly innocent and people need to call them on their malicious acts when they’re uncovered. Likewise people need to demand that such actions are never taken again (this is the hard part).

Mother Convicted of Vehicular Homicide Because Somebody Hit Her Kid With a Car

Justice has been served! A mother who dared to walk her children across a street was charged with vehicular homicide after a driver who had been drinking hit one of her children with his car. Wait, what? Seriously, what in the fuck:

A Marietta mother whose child was hit and killed by a driver who had been drinking may serve more time than the driver, according to various news reports.

Raquel Nelson, now 30, was attempting to cross an intersection of Austell Road in Marietta with her three young children when her 4-year-old son was struck by a hit-and-run driver in April 2010, according to news reports. The boy, A.J., died from his injuries.

Nelson’s 9-year-old daughter was unharmed, and Nelson and her 2-year-old daughter suffered minor injuries.

[…]

At a court hearing July 26, Nelson could be sentenced to up to 36 months in prison, said her attorney, David Savoy.

Nelson was convicted this week of homicide by vehicle in the second degree, crossing a roadway elsewhere than at a crosswalk and reckless conduct, according to a report from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Additional information can be found in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution:

Jerry L. Guy, the driver who admitted hitting the child when pleading guilty to hit-and-run, served a 6-month sentence. He was released Oct. 29, 2010, and will serve the remainder of a 5-year sentence on probation, according to Cobb court records.

[…]

Guy confessed to having consumed “a little” alcohol earlier in the day, being prescribed pain medication and being partially blind in his left eye, said David Simpson, his attorney.

In summary a mother was walking her three children across the street, one was hit by a man who was driving and had at least some alcohol, the driver spent six months in jail, and the mother is looking at 36 months. Her only crime? Walking across the street outside of a crosswalk.

Yup, because she was outside of a crosswalk (and honestly there may have been no crosswalks for miles, they’re availability is quite sporadic in many cities) she’s been convicted of vehicular homicide, a charge carrying a maximum prison sentence of 36 months, while the man who hit and killed her child only spent six months in the clink. Where the fuck is the justice in that?

I also forgot one minor detail:

Court records show that Guy was previously convicted of two-hit-and-runs on the same day, Feb. 17, 1997.

The first hit-and-run also happened on Austell Road, but when Guy fled from that scene he hit another car, seriously injuring that driver and passenger, records show.

So this isn’t the first time the driver had hit somebody and caused injury.
