The Expendables

I’m often late to the party and this is no exception. Last night I finally got around to seeing The Expendables. After watching it I must give this movie my utmost recommendation. The Expendables does what it’s intended to do very well, which is be an over the top action movie akin to old films of the ’80’s. Every big name action movie star in the last three decades can be found here, even Schwarzenegger.

Everything in the movie eventually gets shot, blown up, or has a knife stabbed through it. It’s pure mindless destruction and famous action movie stars being awesome.

Road Rage

I know being pissed off about traffic conditions and idiot drivers is JayG’s field of expertise but damn it sometimes you just have to vent.

Let us pretend of a second that you’re at an intersection. This intersection is an on and off ramp to a highway intersected with a city street. Let us say down the street the stop light has went from it’s normal red, yellow, green operation to the flashing red that notes stop sign functionality. Due to this traffic on said road is backed up to the intersection. Now let’s say you’re one of the people who took the off ramp and are turning onto the city road. If the cars are backed up all the way to the intersection do you (a) stay at the end of the off ramp and wait for the line of traffic to shorten or (b) drive into the intersection and prevent anybody going the opposite way from using the on ramp?

If you answered (b) you’re a majority of the fuckwits who drive through my on/off ramp intersection and cause me to wait for 20 minutes before being able to take said on ramp. So FUCK YOU and go die in a fire!

Slow Day

Just a heads up, it’s going to be a very slow news day today. As you can see from my other post I spent all last night play with my Palm Pre instead of punching up stories for this site. I’m sure you’ll survive the drought of news here for one day.

Dealing with Idiots

Are you outraged that some crazy asshole at some tiny religious gather spot is trying to get people to burn some books? Do you want said crazy asshole to go away? Well I have a solution, ignore the crazy asshole.

Crazy assholes are generally attention whores who do things to get their 15 minutes of fame. If you want them to go away just ignore their existence. Don’t cover them in the news, don’t talk about them with friends, don’t blog and tweet about them, don’t acknowledge their existence.

Using this method an outraged country could avoid having to be outraged as the crazy asshole cries himself to sleep because nobody is willing to pay attention to him. Remember crazy assholes know there is no such thing as bad publicity so every time you acknowledge they exist it encourages them a little more.

The Most Metal Ship Ever

Now here is a cruise ship I wish I’d be on. 70,000 Tons of Metal is a cruise ship with 40 heavy metal bands on board. This has to be the most bad ass ship on the sea and I honestly don’t think the entire United States Navy could take this single ship on.

Also Amon Amarth will be on board. Yes we have vikings on a ship for the first time in centuries… this isn’t going to be good for the ports this ship visits.
