What the Hell Have You Done

It’s probably no surprise to anybody that I don’t like things that work changed. Usually I don’t bring it up because it’s pointless but today when I opened up my browser for my hourly dose of Slashdot I saw this. Yes they completely changed the site overnight.

And I only bring it up because it’s actually… better. Facebook could learn something from Slashdot when it comes to site redesigns (i.e. make the new site more useful to users).

Twitter Disclaimer

OK I’m not a fan of using redundant things hence I’m making a disclaimer here and now. Although I have setup a Twitter account for use with this site honestly I’m also going to fill it with personal junk. If you simply want a clean feed of this blog then subscribe to the RSS feed like normal people. I really can’t justify maintaining a Twitter account unless I have some use for it that can’t be fulfilled by current services I already use.

Basically I’m going to use Twitter for this site, personal crap, and posting things that I don’t think are blog-worthy but are still interesting in some regard (for instance cool iOS apps I run into or other such nonsense).

Anyways this serves as official notice and warning. I’m going to ignore any complaints I receive on the matter from here on out.

Closing Out 2010

It’s the final day of 2010, you know what that means right? Yes, lot’s of drunks will be out on the road tonight. Be smart and find a house party where you can crash if you want to get your drink on, honestly it’s safer.

Either way I have to say for the most part 2010 has been a pretty cool year and I’m looking forward to 2011 (because I like to take things to 11). Have a good New Year’s Eve and be safe (but hopefully not boring).

Is Gun Blogging Getting Harder

Sebastian over at Snowflakes in Hell has an interesting post talking about gun blogging becoming more difficult. I’ve noticed this as well which is why there hasn’t been as many gun related topics as of late. Sebastian credits this to the wins we’ve scored as of late but I’m attributing it to a general lull in gun related things. No field of interest has interesting things happening, they usually have burst of interesting things followed by times of nothing happening. Currently there is no good or bad related firearms legislation on the table, no amazing new firearms are being presented or released, and for those of us up in the frozen tundra shooting competition season is over for the year.

When I started this blog my main focus was on firearms but I left it open for posting about other things. Needless to say with the lull in firearms related news I’ve been posting more about world news and technology.

Worry not though because whenever something interesting happens in the world of firearms or gun rights (and I hear about it) it will get posted here. The lull will eventually be over and there will be a glut of gun related things to write about again. At that point us gun bloggers will be finding it difficult to set aside time to write about it all.

Mountain Goats… We’re Not Safe Anywhere

Yesterday I posted a story about a man who was killed by a mountain goat. Today I’m here to inform you that mountain goats are out there, they’re out to get us, and there is nowhere that we are safe. These bastards were spotted climbing the Cingino Dam in Italy. Looking at the picture it’s obvious that going around the dam would have been easier which leads me to believe the mountain goats are sending us a message… a very frightening message.

Internet Debates

You know what I find hilarious and pathetic at the same time? People who try to argue or debate but end up losing and then try to save face by saying they were just trolling. The phenomenon occurs a lot online where people will get into forum arguments that will span ten pages and finally somebody will have their argument so thoroughly destroyed that they have no recourse besides admitting defeat or using personal insults. At this time the loser will generally claim they were just trolling and actually don’t care.

It’s the ultimate out and you know you’ve won once somebody uses it on you.
