BATFE Harassing Gun Owners in Border Towns

Several NRA members in border cities are saying they’ve had BATFE (I’m still wondering when the Hell the B and the E were tacked onto ATF) agents coming to their door and asking to be let inside so they can get the serial numbers off of their guns.

Remember everybody unless an agent has a warrant do not let them into your home. No matter what threats they make or what they say without a warrant they can not legally enter your residence. Law enforcement agents are allowed to lie to you so they can say things like they will report you or bring you down to the precinct but without legal grounds they can’t do anything.

If this is actually happening I encourage everybody to stand up for their rights and tell the BATFE no they can not enter and it’s none of their business how many guns you own.

Having the Government Control Our Lives Costs a Lot

That’s a lot of my tax money going to regulate my life. Personally I think I can regulate my life for much cheaper by doing it myself. Furthermore regulatory code is expansive…

The same report found that the “Federal Register,” the government publication that is the compendium for federal rules, now stands at a staggering 79,435 pages!

No human being is going to be able to read through 79,435 pages of regulatory code. Hell you’d need a lot of people knowing small parts just to have a group of people who know it. This means that there are regulations that are probably not usually enforced until they need something to nail somebody to the wall with.

Personally I’m of the idea where if your laws are so numerous and expansive that no person can possibly know them all you need to cut down the number of laws. I should be able to read all the laws in a specific area, understand them easily, and know exactly what I can and cannot do. With our current setup I can guarantee everybody in the United States will break multiple laws this year without even knowing it.

Germany will Sensor the Internet

This is always the first set in full government censorship. Find something almost everybody decries, make a law banning it, and further use that law to censor all free information exchange where that now illegal item can be obtained.

The bill as it stands right now doesn’t prevent a person from viewing a site deemed to contain child pornography it just makes them click through a displayed stop sign (and I’m sure record their IP address for government agents can come arrest them).

The problem I have with a bill involving any kind of censorship is this. If you give a government an inch they’ll take a mile. This is true of every government. Right now they will only censor child pornography but next it will be anything deeming sexually abnormal and eventually it will involve anything that speaks badly about the German government.

I Guess We Now Tax Based on the Value of Money’s Material

Taken at face value, each defendant’s annual coin income placed him below the threshold for filing a federal tax return.

So the coins are legal tender according the Congress whom I hear has some say in the value of money. But alas being the greedy people they are the IRS wants to tax based on the value of the precious metals the coins are made from not the legal value Congress set for them.

“It’s not whether what Mr. Kahre did was legal under the law,” defense attorney Michael Kennedy told the jury in his opening statement. “It’s whether he believed what he did was legal,”

So now the law is based off of what you believe is right or wrong? In that case I don’t believe anything I do is wrong and therefore should be innocent of any crimes committed. Fuck the taxation system in this country is off the wall. If Congress sets the value of those coins at $50.00 they should be valued for tax purposes as $50.00

It’s not like the employees can legally melt down the coins for the material. Destruction of money is a federal crime.

Proving Once Again the European Union is Anti-Business

It never seems to end with the European Union. They bring up a well deserved anti-trust case against Microsoft. It ends in a fine, which Microsoft pays. The European Union also requires Microsoft to rip out applications in it’s operating system so Microsoft does so releasing special European only versions of it’s operating system. For instance there is going to be an Internet Explorer free version of Windows 7. Well apparently that doesn’t go far enough for the largest socialist coalition on Earth…

The European Union not only wants Microsoft to remove its own browser they also want Microsoft to include competitors’ browsers. I’m calling bullshit on this right here, right now. I dislike Microsoft as much as many others because of what they have done to the industry through their illegal practices. But why should they not be allowed to include their own web browser? And why in the fuck should they be required to include competitors’ products?

The bottom line every modern operating system includes a web browser. Apple’s Mac OS includes Safari, Ubuntu includes Firefox, Android includes it’s own WebKit based browser, Heck Debian even includes Ice Weasel which is just Firefox with a different name. If no browser was included most people wouldn’t know what to do with their computer. Unlike those of us in the “tech savvy” world most people have no idea how to get a web browser without first having a web browser. If you removed Internet Explorer from Windows what do you think most people would do? Probably call their computer manufacturer’s tech support and as “What the fuck guys?”

As making Microsoft remove the browser is idiotic. But making them include their competition’s products is insane. Yes Microsoft are a convicted monopoly, yes they did illegal practices to get to where they are today, but making them include the competition’s products is about as anti-business as you get. Most people who want to use a different browser just get one. For instance the first thing I do on a new installation of Windows after applying the system updates is download a copy of Firefox, Chrome, or Safari (depending on the day).

The problem with including other companies’ products is that Microsoft has no control over them. Currently when a security hole is found in Internet Explorer (you know just about every day) Microsoft figures out the problem and usually fixes it. They can do this because it’s their product and they have control over it. Now let’s say Firefox is included in Windows. Microsoft has no control over any problems that may occur and would be at Mozilla’s mercy when it came to providing a fix. Granted Mozilla is good about providing fixes but if they stop for some reason that leave Microsoft in a shitty position. Not to mention Microsoft has no way of knowing if their competitors’ products won’t interfere with other software in Windows.

Also who is to say any of Microsoft’s competitors won’t provide a special version of their production to include into Windows which they will refuse to support? I doubt this would happen but if they did it would make Microsoft look bad not them browser’s creator. Not having control over your own product is not only difficult but dangerous.

Finally how will we determine which browsers will be included? There are literally hundreds, if not thousands, of browser out there. Does Microsoft have to include them all? If so that’s probably a few more gigabytes of size that will need to be installed with the operating system. Do only browsers with at least 10% market share get included? Well that would only leave Mozilla. Of course that would be unfair to Chrome, Safari, etc. How do you get clueless users to determine what browser will be best for them? Most people use Internet Explorer because it’s there and as far as they are concerned it is the Internet. Many of these people would have no idea what to do when asked what web browser to install.

Honestly this is just another reason why I hate the European Union. It was a bad idea when it started and it’s only getting worse as it ages.

Shooting at Holocaust Museum in Washington D.C.

A white supremacist dip shit shot and killed, Stephen Tyrone Johns, a guard at the Holocaust Museum. The dip shit is currently in critical condition. A third person was also injured but it was due to broken glass, not gun fire. Of course following the policy of never letting a tragedy go to waste this is already being called an act of “domestic terrorism” by the FBI…

Joseph Persichini, assistant director in charge of the Washington FBI field office, said the shootings were being investigated as a possible hate crime or a case of domestic terrorism.

Oh yeah and also a hate crime, because a murder is only hateful if it’s a racist prick doing it. This brings me to several points I’d like to make.

First the idea of a hate crime is bullshit. A person of one race, religion, or other such grouping who kills another of a different grouping shouldn’t be treated any different then two people from the same grouping killing each other. Murder and assault is wrong, period. The person convicted of the crime should be punished based on the fact he or she committed a violent act against another human being without justification.

Second I find it despicable that this is being considered domestic terrorism. I’ll be the first to say I think racists are stupid pricks. But I also believe those stupid pricks have a right to free speech and belief without being persecuted as terrorists. This might be one of the first big cases where the new definition of a right-wing extremist terrorist is used to nail a person to the wall not because they killed a person, but because their beliefs don’t agree with that of the government.

Finally the gun rights part of this. I’m sure this event is going to be used by the anti-gunners to say we need stricter control on firearms. This will be said even though Washington D.C. has a damned near complete ban on firearms. Also pay attention to this quote which will probably be thrown down a memory hole in a few days…

AP’s sources said the weapon used by the suspect was a .22-calibre rifle.

Right now it’s a .22 caliber rifle. I’m betting within a weeks time most news agencies will be saying it was an AK-47. And after this another push but the gun grabbers will be made to ban assault weapons.

Of course nobody will give a damn about Mr. Johns, the officer who was shot.

This is stupid on enough levels to recreate Dante’s Inferno. First of all you know “extremist views” are anything The Party doesn’t agree with. I’m sure most people who read this blog would fall under this category, I know I do.

The terrorism message is also illustrated with a re-telling of the story of Guy Fawkes, saying that his strong views began forming when he was at school in York. It has been designed to deliver the message of fighting terrorism in [an] accessible way for children.

It’s funny I know Britain celebrates Guy Fawke’s Day. It’s celebrating by lighting bonfires (at least it was, I know many cities have outlawed bonfires). But now The Party is saying he’s an example of terrorism. I’m sure us Americans are terrorists two since we broke away from Oceania long ago.

In the story some teenagers wielding planks of wood (I thought no violent crime could happen once you took away guns) tried to rob several people playing golf. Apparently they didn’t realize that golf clubs are equally effective at bludgeoning people as wood planks. The golfers defended themselves as they should have the right to.

Being this is across the pond though they were arrested for defending themselves. And of course the golden quote…

Governor Ed Rendell of Pennsylvania was asked about “assault weapons” on an CNN interview.

It’s nuts for ordinary citizens to go out and buy assault weapons. Assault weapons are difficult to operate, they jam easily, if you want a gun to protect your home it’s the last thing you should have.

That’s hilarious actually because I own several “assault weapons.” None of them are difficult to operate nor unreliable. Hell if you cant figure out how to operate an AR-15 or an AK-47 you’ve got issues. And both are pretty well known for being reliable rifles. If I needed to defend my home with a rifle (personally I’d prefer a shotgun in most cases) I’d certainly select one of the two.
