I found a story on Dvorak Uncensored last night that is rather funny.
A grandmother did a Google search on “Queensland + pre-meditated + murder + penalties” and “pre-meditated murder.” Shortly afterwards her husband died.
It must be a coincidence.
Chronicling the depravities of the State.

Another story via Says Uncle today. This one is aggravating to say the least.
What was the official response to the Fort Hood tragedy? Allow our soldiers to carry on base so they could defend themselves should another nutcase decide to start shooting the place up? No. Instead we get this:
Soldiers assigned to Fort Hood will have to register their personal firearms with the director of emergency services, he added. Fort Hood is home to some 50,000 active-duty soldiers and 18,000 of the soldiers’ family members.
The lack of logic of that response leaves me dumbfounded. So the directory of emergency services will now know who on base owns personal firearms and who types of firearms they are. So if one of them decides to go on a shooting spree they’ll have a better idea of what gun was used after many of our country’s finest are slain in a gun free zone.
How the Hell is this going to help anything?
Oh here’s a great one courtesy of the No Agenda podcast. You know all those jobs that have been listed as “saved or created” on the $18 million government run Recover website? Well apparently many of the congressional districts listed don’t exist. I guess it’s easy to make up a list of jobs “saved or created” in the magical land of Make Believe.
There is a good story on Days of our Trailers. To sum it up The Detroit News decided a crazy person was a victim after attacking another driver and being shot in the process. Of course that’s not the biggest story in my opinion, it’s what The Detroit News did afterwards.
They decided to use the memory hole and edit out the word victim. They never made a note of the edit, they just changed it. Thankfully David got a Google cache before the memory hole ate up the original completely and posted a screenshot. This is a danger people should be aware of, things can be changed and edited without notice. If you’re referencing a story save a local copy to your computer in case the online story gets deleted or changed.
Says Uncle brings us a story where the moral of the story is if you’re carrying make sure your noise maker is in a holster. Mitchum Patterson didn’t follow this precaution and suffered a negligent discharge. Worse yet he was illegally carrying the gun on school grounds which of course should be impossible since it’s a gun free zone. Here is the situation:
A Dallas Independent School District maintenance worker is recovering at Parkland Memorial Hospital after shooting himself with a gun he carried onto an elementary campus.
Here is how it happened:
Mitchum Patterson, 52, shot himself accidentally in his right thigh as he bent over inside a maintenance closet at Umphrey Lee Elementary School. The employee, who has worked at DISD for 14 years, had the loaded gun tucked in his pants.
Here is what he’s facing:
DISD police plan to charge Patterson, who has been suspended from his job, with a third degree felony once he is released from the hospital.
Patterson could face two to ten years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000 if convicted. However, judges have the right to give probation in some cases.
And to think that could be have been voided by a $10.00 Uncle Mike’s holster. But the absolute best quote in this article is:
“It was crazy because our kids are here,” said Laquecia Smith, a parent. “It’s supposed to be a gun-free zone. You see the signs up and down the street.”
Wait you mean those signs can’t actually enforce themselves? OH SHIT! WARNING! People CAN bring guns into gun free zones! How is this possible? THERE ARE SIGNS!
This kind of story can only occur in the area where I grew up (Viroqua, WI is very close to my home town in southeastern Minnesota). A deer picked a fight with the wrong elk costing that daring deer it’s life. From the story:
A love-struck buck ran out of luck a week ago. The seven-point buck was killed when it rammed a 640-pound concrete statue of an elk in the backyard of Mark and Carol Brye’s home in rural Viroqua.
That’s right deer will hunt themselves for you. Yes after it’s death the deer was tagged:
Brye claimed the buck with a tag from the Vernon County conservation warden. He laughed at the warden’s tag note: “lawn ornament fight – lost.”
This even is a reminder that humans aren’t the only species Darwin’s ghost is watching over. But on a serious note the challenging deer did get a good strike against the elk:
“The statue is OK, but the antlers broke off when it tipped over,” Brye said. “One side of the antlers is in one piece, but the other side is in five pieces.”
Seriously this story is too funny.
OK another story on the mass shooting at Fort Hood. The media is reporting that the killer used a 5.7 caliber handgun. Well for reference here’s a 5 caliber casing.
How the fuck did he carry that around base without somebody noticing?
Those hounding for American ISPs to censor the Internet have a new scheme up their selves. This time, surprisingly, it has nothing to do with “protecting the children.” The new bill titled the Investor Protection Act has been introduced by Representative Paul Kanjorski, a dumbass from Pennsylvania.
The bill would require ISPs to block sites hosting financial scams. Let me rephrase that, the bill would require ISPs to block all electronic material related to financial scams. This of course sounds like a good thing right? Wrong.
This is what I call the negotiating with terrorists maneuver. As a country we have an official stance to never negotiate with terrorists. It’s a good policy because if you negotiate with terrorists you open the floodgates to other terrorists attacking you in the hopes of negotiating something out of you. If you legally require ISPs to filter any single thing it opens the floodgates to legally force them to filter other materials using the last bill as precedence. Gun control laws often get passed now because way back when somebody decided bills restricting constitutional rights were OK in one situation.
As it sits right now ISPs are not forced to filter any traffic. If you get scammed that’s your fault. But alas don’t be stupid and you won’t get scammed, just like real life. On the other hand if you do something illegal your ISP will cooperate with law enforcement to take you down. The system right now works and keeps the Internet an open medium here in the United States. We need to shoot this bill down less we start dealing with other filtering bills.
An example of petty double standards is presented for our amusement by Says Uncle. October is breast cancer awareness month and hence companies out there usually release some commemorative product which the profits or proceeded are donated to a cancer research group, usually the American Cancer Society.
Both DPMS and Smith and Wesson help auctions for custom guns with procedes going to a cancer research center. Of course some people aren’t happy when gun manufacturers do it. See it’s only OK for companies who don’t make devices that many women use every day to defend themselves to make donations towards fighting breast cancer.
Do you live in that People’s Republic of California? Well you have my sympathies in that case since you’re getting beating up by your government again. Stating yesterday California will be withholding an additional 10% of citizens’ paychecks. Oh but get this, it’s not a tax. Yes it’s mandatory and yes the state is taking it from your paycheck before you even get it, but it’s not income tax. You’ll get it back someday, scout’s honor.
As a citizen of the United States of America let me extend a welcome invitation to all subjects of California to uproot yourselves and come to the U.S. It’s actually rather nice here.
