Getting Away with Murder

It’s easy to get away with murder in this country. Doing so only requires you to acquire a badge and a state sanctioned costume. Once you’ve done that you can go around beating people to death without worrying about consequences:

An Orange County jury Monday found two former Fullerton police officers accused of killing a schizophrenic homeless man, Kelly Thomas, not guilty.

Manuel Ramos and Jay Cicinelli were charged with striking Kelly Thomas with a baton and a stun gun in a beating that left him comatose. He died five days later.

What makes this decision especially heinous is that the evidence of police brutality is concrete. Here is the video of the police beating Mr. Thomas to death without any provocation (obviously the video is violent):

One might be asked what defense could possibly exist for an act of brutality such as this. Well the defense, like the video, was sick:

Ramos’ attorney, John Barnett, told reporters: “These peace officers were doing their jobs…they did what they were trained to do.”

The defense attorney was being truthful, the officers were doing their jobs as they were trained to. Threatening and inflicting violence to instill obedience is how officers are trained to deal with situations. If an officer commands you to do something and you fail to do so you can almost guarantee that you would be beaten, Tased, shot, or otherwise aggressed against. This is one of the biggest problems with modern policing.

I honestly don’t have words to describe my opinion of those officers or the jurors who gave them a free pass. This ruling demonstrates everything that is wrong with America’s “justice” system. Although I try to avoid using derogatory labels I cannot help by bring myself to use one now. Those officers are fucking pigs. They are examples of the worst humanity has to offer. Savagely beating a homeless schizophrenic man to death because he was unwilling to put his god damned feet in the command position takes a true psychopath. I only hope that the jurors came to their decision because they were being threatened behind the scenes. Based on what I’ve seen in today’s “justice” system I wouldn’t be surprised if that were the case. And if that was the reason for their decision I understand and do not fault them. On the other hand, if that wasn’t the reason for their decision I can only assume the jury was made up of some truly sick individuals.

Fuck everything about this case.

What You Mean to Your Government

Monday’s are usually fairly slow news days and this week is no exception. Due to the lack of any more news I find interesting enough to post about I’ve decided to leave this story here. My reasoning is that this story covers nine government conspiracies that actually happened. They are:

The U.S. Department of the Treasury poisoned alcohol during Prohibition — and people died.
The U.S. Public Health Service lied about treating black men with syphilis for more than 40 years.
More than 100 million Americans received a polio vaccine contaminated with a potentially cancer-causing virus.
Parts of the Gulf of Tonkin Incident, which led to U.S. intervention in Vietnam, never happened.
Military leaders reportedly planned terrorist attacks in the U.S. to drum up support for a war against Cuba.
The government tested the effects of LSD on unwitting U.S. and Canadian citizens.
In 1974, the CIA secretly resurfaced a sunken Soviet submarine with three nuclear-armed ballistic missiles.
The U.S. government sold weapons to Iran, violating an embargo, and used the money to support Nicaraguan militants.
A public relations firm organized congressional testimony that propelled U.S. involvement in the Persian Gulf War.

The article is an interesting read because these stories really show what the United States government thinks of its own people and people abroad. Life has little meaning to it. If people have to be poisoned to enforce a prohibition against drinking alcohol then the government has no moral issue with doing it. If the people aren’t supporting a war effort the government has no issue hiring a public relations firm to build support. This is what government does and it is why I don’t feel it should exist.

The Traditional of Lopping Off Hands is Alive and Well in the United States

In their zeal to demonize the Middle East the warvangelicals, often referred to as neoconservatives, often claim that the barbaric practice of cutting off the hands of thieves is widespread throughout the region. Well the practice of limb removal is alive and well here in the supposedly civilized United States:

“Five deputy sheriffs from for one little girl. She has to go to the bathroom. She asked, ‘Can I go to the bathroom?’ They refused. They broke the door down and then they Tased her, grabbed her and they put her in a sheriff’s van. And I think the handcuffs were tight,” attorney Marvin Leibowitz said.

According to the complaint, that alleged treatment caused her to suffer from compartment syndrome, which is increased pressure that damages muscles and nerves. The attorney says while his client sat in jail, she made 16 requests to see a doctor for treatment but was denied.

“They never sent her a doctor. Never took her to the doctor. She developed a septic shock. The infection went over and she almost died and they had to take off her arm to prevent her from dying,” Leibowitz said.

Needham, mother of three children ages five to nine, had previously worked in a restaurant. She is now waiting for a prosthesis.

“She has severe psychological problems. I think she’s been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder. She doesn’t have an arm. How is she going to get a job?” Leibowitz said.

Deputies had arrested her for failing to show up at a preliminary hearing on a charge that was eventually reduced to disorderly conduct.

All of this because she failed to show up to a court hearing on a charge that was reduced to disorderly conduct? That seems acceptable. I mean, if those cops hadn’t busted down her door and kidnapped her there’s no telling what other heinous acts of disorderly conduct that woman may have performed.

Warvangelicals and other Americans often like to call this country a land of laws. In reality this country is a land of punishments. When somebody violates a decree issued by some guy who wears a suit and sits in a marble building the dogs of war, who we refer to as police, are unleashed. Using whatever means necessary, regardless of the severity of the decree they’re enforcing, these dogs of the state kick down doors, kidnap people, and employ physical violence. It doesn’t matter if you’ve murdered somebody or have been caught in possession of a verboten plant, the ride will be the same. You will be threatened with violence, kidnapped, and beaten or even killed if you resist (and you may be beaten or killed if you don’t resist).

Language Discrimination

Bad news everyone. Studying Arabic is now grounds to be detained at the airport:

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A former college student who was detained for several hours at an airport after he was found carrying Arabic language flashcards had his bid to sue federal agents rejected by a federal appeals court.

Nicholas George sought to sue three Transportation Security Administration agents and two FBI agents over the August 2009 stop at Philadelphia International Airport, saying they violated his free speech rights and conducted an improper search and arrest based on the flashcards and a book critical of American policy in the Middle East.

A district judge rejected the agents’ assertion of immunity, but the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals overturned that ruling in a decision issued Tuesday.

George was returning from his home in a Philadelphia suburb to Pomona College in California, where he was studying Arabic, when TSA agents saw the words “bomb” and “terrorist” among his flashcards and called police. George was detained for nearly five hours, two of them in handcuffs in a city police station at the airport.

Obviously Mr. George was a terrorist. After all, who else would be carrying Arabic flash cards with words like “bomb” and “terrorist” printed on them? Well, besides somebody studying to become a military translator. Or somebody who has an invested interest in reading Arabic manuals on guerrilla warfare purely for curiosity’s sake. The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) went bonkers when it first started but it’s rather sickening to think that we still have that horrible agency around even though it hasn’t prevented a single terrorist wannabe from boarding an airplane.

The War on Unpatented Drugs Claims Another Victim

Another person was killed in the state’s war on unpatentable drugs. This time the death was caused by a negligently discharged round fired by a cop performing a heavily armed raid:

At about 10:30 p.m. on December 11th, a group of cops calling themselves the U.S. 23 Task Force swarmed the residence and prepared to break in and capture people for possessing drugs. One of the officers, Sgt. Brett McKnight, an 11-year-veteran of the Ross County Sheriff’s Office, negligently handled his weapon and fired a round through the exterior wall of the mobile home.

The bullet traveled into the residence and struck a woman sitting on a couch. Krystal Marie Barrows, 35, of Chillicothe, was “in critical condition” and flown by helicopter to Ohio State University’s Wexner Medical Center, where she died the following day.

No one inside the home fired back, the Chillicothe Gazette reported. Six individuals were arrested for prohibition crimes.

This is ridiculous. The police murdered somebody yet still had the gall to arrest six people for engaging in a victimless activity. That’s pretty sick. But this does go to show the dangers involved in not having a dog these days. It seems that police are satisfied with killing a dog in place of a person when one is available but when one isn’t available the police seem to escalate to killing people. Let this be a lesson. If you partake in verboten substances or don’t and think your dwelling may be targeted by a wrong address no-knock raid get yourself a dog and name it Bullet Catcher. It may save your life.

St. Louis is Now Waging War Against the Homeless

In another chapter of the state’s war against the homeless we have officials working for the city of St. Louis shutting down a church event that provided meals to the homeless:

ST. LOUIS • Churches on the Streets may have served its last hot supper. At least for now.

The city Health Department on Monday told organizers of the group that serves food to the homeless Monday nights at a vacant train depot near the St. Louis riverfront that they must stop serving hot food because they don’t have a permit.

The city’s edict came a day after the group was featured on the front page of the Post-Dispatch. The group has been providing home-cooked meals, clothing and supplies to the homeless for more than a year. Before each meal, Edward “Pastor Paul” Gonnella, a recovered crack addict and ex-convict, delivers short sermons to the homeless in hopes getting them off the streets.

Organizers thought they didn’t need a permit to serve food because they have been meeting at the old Cotton Belt Rail Depot, which is private property.

Not so, says Pat Mahoney, an environmental health supervisor with the city Health Department. She said the group must have a permit to serve hot food to the public even though its volunteers are doing it on private property. She said the group is allowed to distribute pre-packaged meals.

But the real icing on the cake is this paragraph:

Mahoney said the city considers the group’s activities different from other outdoor gatherings, such as a tailgate party before Rams football games, because those are more private in nature and aren’t inviting the public. Churches that host fish frys also must have permits.

You can server hot meals if it relates to a football game without city permission but you can’t server hot meals to people who have nothing unless you get permission from the city. Once again we see the American attitude that the oligarchs, in this case the owners and operators of football stadiums, received special treatment while those with nothing get shafted precisely because they have nothing.

If the organizers apply for a permit I’m sure the city will either deny it or charge enough that the churches can’t reasonably afford it. This isn’t just about paying to play, it’s about the way cities deal with the homeless. City governments about interested in providing assistence to the homeless, they’re only interested in making the lives of the homeless so miserable that they move somewhere else and become somebody else’s problem.

Jennifer Zilavy is an Asshole

I don’t know Jennifer Zilavy personally but I already know that she’s an asshole. Who is she? She’s the city attorney for Madison, Wisconsin. Why is she an asshole? Because of her attitude towards men:

“There’s no way that (sexual assault) will not happen,” assistant city attorney Jennifer Zilavy said. “No offense to men, but I don’t know any man who wants to just snuggle.”

The attitude that either gender is a slave to its emotions irritates me. Both men and women are capable of controlling their behavior. Men can choose not to commit sexual assault just as women can choose not to cower in fear when confronted with violence. I would go so far as to say controlling one’s behavior is a prerequisite for being considered and adult.

If people want to pay money for cuddling they should be allowed to. A vast majority of men aren’t prowling the streets in the hopes of finding a woman to rape. Any business that operates on the concept of selling a cuddling buddy for an hour isn’t going to standby if one of its employees starts getting out of hand. The fear mongering being drummed up by Zilavy is both sexist and fictitious.

An Accurate Interpreter

I guess nobody expected deaf people to watch Nelson Mandela’s funeral because the sign language interpreter didn’t know sign language:

JOHANNESBURG — The sign-language interpreter on stage at Nelson Mandela’s globally broadcast memorial service was a faker who was just waving his arms around meaninglessly, advocates for the deaf said Wednesday.

The unidentified man seen around the world on television next to leaders including United States President Barack Obama “was moving his hands around but there was no meaning in what he used his hands for,” Bruno Druchen, the federation’s national director, told The Associated Press.

While that is embarrassing I’m having a difficult time finding where the outrage is coming from. Mandela’s funeral consisted of a good number of world “leaders” taking the stage and bullshitting us. They help up Mandela as an advocate of peace, a noble trait, while they planned more bombings, torture, and other egregious violations of human decency. Their words were empty and the interpreter reflected that perfectly.

The Psychopaths in Charge

Unlike many gun owners the so-called liberals in Washington DC aren’t the politicians that truly scare. The really frightening politicians are the war mongers. Their policies involve sending men and woman form this country overseas to kill men and women in foreign lands. Obviously the men and women of the foreign lands don’t take kindly to invasion so they fight back and put the men and women of this country in harm’s way. War mongers make this Ouroboros of death even worse by refusing to go overseas and suffer the same danger as the people they send. Once in a while a war monger even goes the extra mile and advocates the destruction of entire swaths of populated land:

But if push came to shove and US officials deemed strikes necessary, Hunter turned hawkish.

He said any American strike would be a “massive aerial bombing campaign,” adding that such a mission should not feature any “boots on ground.” Then, Hunter said the US should use its “tactical nuclear weapons” on Iranian targets.

How does threatening a nuclear strike help the situation? If anything such a threat will make Iran want its own nuclear weapons even more. After all, no nuclear armed country has suffered an invasion or a nuclear strike. When one nation begins to threaten another the latter country will want nuclear weapons to discourage the former. I think it would be a requirement of anybody entering public officer to watch several hours of footage of the aftermath of the atomic bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. After that any representative who throws around the idea of nuking a foreign country can be dismissed as a true psychopath.

Honest Cops

You may not be able to legally lie to a copy but they can certainly lie to you. This rather one-sided law makes it no surprise that so many cops have a difficult time with the truth. But once in a while you get a cop who is up front and honest with you:

They wanted to know where two guys were, and Crinnian later found out police believed they violated parole.

“I said, ‘I have no idea who you’re talking about I’ve never heard of these people before,’” he said.

To prove it, he said police asked to search his house, Crinnian refused multiple times. He said they needed a warrant.

Then he said one police officer started threatening him saying, “If we have to get a warrant, we’re going to come back when you’re not expecting it, we’re going to park in front of your house, where all your neighbors can see, we’re gonna bust in your door with a battering ram, we’re gonna shoot and kill your dogs, who are my family, and then we’re going to ransack your house looking for these people.”

What’s worse is that the cops could have done exactly that and received little more than a slap on the wrist. It’s amazing how far modern policing has fallen from the old motto of protect and serve. The new motto should be to assault and terrorize.
