Go Honduras

Even though I still think it was worthless for the Honduras government to even talk about reinstating their ousted constitution violating ex-president they did. Fortunately they have decided to uphold their constitution by rejecting the idea to return ex-president Zelaya to power. Out of the 125 congress members in attendance 111 said Zelaya can go fuck himself with a retractable baton.

So it’s true, there are still countries out there that uphold their laws, unlike mine country.

Bad News, Metal Storm Close To Bankruptcy

Sometimes you get good news in the morning and sometimes not. This is one of those nots. The Firearm Blog reports that Metal Storm is approaching bankruptcy.

For those of you who don’t know Metal Storm it’s an Australian based company that developed a new feeding mechanism for firearms. Instead of having detachable magazines Metal Storm’s guns stack ammunition in the barrel. The ammunition has no casing instead it’s simply powder, bullet, powder, bullet, etc. Small electrodes are placed in the barrel where the powder lays. These electrodes ignite the powder sending the round on it’s way. The advantage to this was the capability to create a weapon with less moving parts and a much higher rate of fire.

They made some rather wicked machine guns and grenade launchers. It’ll be a sad day if they go under (down under?).

Strange Success Metric

Ah yes the Brady Campaign. They claim to be against violence but in fact they are against firearm ownership. How do we know this? Well Joe Huffman looks at their rating of success. According to Helmke stopping people from buying firearms is their success metric, not whether their bullshit reduced violence.

This Could Be Stock With Investing In

You know those Somali pirates sure are trying their best to become professional. They’ve not opened up a stock market of sorts. From the article:

In Somalia’s main pirate lair of Haradheere, the sea gangs have set up a cooperative to fund their hijackings offshore, a sort of stock exchange meets criminal syndicate.

You can invest in the pirates and you gain part of their profits, much like stock markets here. As we know generally accepted maritime rules do not allow ships to sail armed so they’re easy pickings for pirates. This means piracy will not be going away anytime soon. Unlike everything else on the planet this could actually get stock market where you can make money.

Obama Trying To Be More Like Bush Every Day

Seriously I thought Obama was all about hope and change. Well he certainly isn’t about change when it comes to the war department. Showing that he wants to emulate Bush he’s authorized 30,000 more troops to be sent over to Afghanistan. Strangely enough the Taliban vows to fight them.

I thought Obama said he’d try to pull our troops out of Iraq and Afghanistan. Wasn’t that one of the things he campaigned on? You know how much money this country would save if we weren’t at a constant state of war?

Damn It Honduras

I’ve been doing some light coverage of the situation in Honduras where their government actually followed their constitution and tossed out an ass hat whom wanted to stay in power indefinitely. They booted the ex-president’s ass out, he came back and hid in the Brazil embassy, and the Honduras government blocked off the said embassy.

Now their congress is in discussions to reinstate the bastard. They shouldn’t even be entertaining the idea. If they reinstate him they can welcome themselves to the same club the United States is in, ignoring their own constitution.

Because Goldman Sachs Employees Are Better Than You and I

Via Dvorak Uncensored we have news that shows Goldman Sachs employees are better than either you or I. From the article:

“I just wrote my first reference for a gun permit,” said a friend, who told me of swearing to the good character of a Goldman Sachs Group Inc. banker who applied to the local police for a permit to buy a pistol. The banker had told this friend of mine that senior Goldman people have loaded up on firearms and are now equipped to defend themselves if there is a populist uprising against the bank.

And:

The New York Police Department has told me that “as a preliminary matter” it believes some of the bankers I inquired about do have pistol permits. The NYPD also said it will be a while before it can name names.

Now somebody is probably thinking I’m going to go on a tirade about why these people should be shot and such. But I’m not because really I blame the economic problems of today on government interference into what should be a free market (I’m looking at you Federal Reserve Act).

Nope I think it’s smart these bankers are arming themselves. I arm myself and I’m not in any situation as bad as they are. But not where these permits are being granted. That’s right New York City. See if you are politically well connected enough or rich enough you to can get a permit in that city. But for average people like you and me there isn’t a snowballs chance in Hel (not a misspelling, look up Norse mythology).
