Minnesota’s Legislature Ceasing Its Pursuit of Gun Control… Until Later

With all the talk of increasing taxes I guess the Minnesota legislature has decided they’re going to rape us hard enough this year because they’re apparently ceasing their pursuit of gun control:

While that bill has moved through committee in the Senate, it has faced strong opposition from the National Rifle Association and gun-rights supporters in the Legislature. Thissen tried once to forge a compromise, which focused on background checks at private sales at gun shows.

But even that bill faced difficulty in passing the House.

“We’re not going to take up the gun bill this year,” he said. “Neither side has been willing to come to an agreement. We just need more time to work out something that’s going to work to prevent gun violence.

“I think because of the intensity on both sides of the issue, even some common-sense solutions can’t be agreed upon right now,” he said. “It’s going to have to be something we’ll continue to work on over the interim.”

I’m sure the legislature will continue their pursuit soon enough. Mr. Thissen says work must be done before a “common-sense” solution can be agreed upon. Being a man who likes to help people come together I have a proposal for a way the state can reduce the amount of gun violence in Minnesota. It’s a simple proposal and requires the state to abolish all laws prohibiting the manufacture, sale, and use of drugs not approved by the state. Doing that would prevent shit like this from happening. If the legislature is really serious about stamping out gun violence their second move would be to disband the entire Minnesota government, which is the largest perpetrator of gun violence in the state (seriously, government agents seem to have a hard-on for shooting dogs and threatening nonviolent individuals).

I Love the Future

The future we live in is great. In my pocket is a device that is able to give me access to the collected knowledge of mankind from almost anywhere in the world. My holster contains a firearm that has a frame made up mostly of plastic with sights that glow in the dark. My truck has oil in it that was developed entirely in a laboratory because dead dinosaurs aren’t thermally stable enough for my likings. The best part about the future though is that it’s constantly evolving. Within a few weeks, as Robb Allen pointed out, gun control will be a thing of the past:

After a panel on how copyright affects the 3D printing industry, he confirmed to Mashable what he had already hinted at before: that what was once unthinkable — a gun entirely made of 3D-printed parts — is actually right around the corner.

Will it work? Wilson thinks it will, and it won’t be just a one-shot wonder it will be able to fire a few shots before melting or breaking.

Wilson didn’t want to reveal too much about what could become the world’s first fully 3D-printed gun, saying he will make the actual announcement soon. He did reveal some details, however.

The gun will be made of 12 parts, all printed in ABS+, a very sturdy type of thermoplastic. There might be, perhaps, just one small metal part — a firing pin. While Wilson and his team are still designing the weapon, it won’t be a reproduction of an existing firearm, but instead a custom design.

Once an entire firearm can be manufactured on a 3D printer gun control will be dead. There is no way to stop the development of a tool when anybody can easily acquire the knowledge and means to create it. As I said, 3D printer technology will only become better and as it does the ability to create more complex devices, such as firearms, will become easier. At this point it’s merely a matter of time until the entire concept of gun control becomes nothing more than a pipe dream of tyrants.

Dianne Feinstein Went (More) Insane

Speaking of gun control advocates going insane, Dianne Feinstein went on one hell of a tear during the Senate debate over the various gun control amendments:

The California Democrat was in full fury, spilling a stream of outrage beyond the mere two minutes allowed on her amendment to gun legislation that was crafted in response to the massacre of 20 schoolchildren and six adults in Newtown, Conn., four months ago.

Her California colleague and fellow Democrat, Sen. Barbara Boxer, shouted for order so that Feinstein could be heard in the evening round of votes that left efforts to stem the availability of guns in shreds.

“We have had enough of the development of highly militarized weapons, easy to shoot, big clips, 100-plus bullets in each large-velocity gun, falling into the hands of grievance killers, juveniles, people mentally disturbed,” Feinstein said.

Wow. She actually became so enraged that she started babbling nonsense. Highly militarized weapons? Big clips? Large velocity guns? It’s obviously that she has personalized this issue so much that she can’t even feign being impartial. Further adding to her nonsensical statements she said:

“We’re here on six-year terms for a reason, to take votes on difficult issues,” Feinstein said. “Everything needs 60 votes today. This is supposed to be a majority body. We have crafted an assault weapons bill to really represent the people of America. Every single poll has shown support for this.”

Every single poll showed that Americans, by in large, supporting banning semi-automatic rifles? Somehow I doubt that. Even if a majority of Americans do support banning semi-automatic rifles, so what? As far as I’m concerned the state can ban whatever it wants because I’m not going to comply and I know many gun owners who will join me in giving the state the middle finger. She continued on:

“I know how this is going to end,” Feinstein said. “The despair and the dismay of families standing out there whose safety we need to protect, and we don’t do it,” she said, as some families of the victims of Newtown and other mass killings watched from the gallery.

This is probably the most nonsensical statement she made. She claims that it is the job of the Senate to protect families after she spent two minutes discussing how she wants to bring the state’s capacity for violence against every family that possesses a semi-automatic rifle. That’s akin to somebody stealing their neighbors assets and claiming that he wants to protect his neighbor’s home from burglars.

I think it’s time for Feinstein to take a break. The stress of being in the Senate is obviously getting to her and she’s beginning to show signs of a mental breakdown. I’m not surprised. According to Wikipedia she’s 79 years old. Of those 79 years she spent 10 as mayor of San Fransisco (and we know the descendants of Emperor Norton are the rightful heirs for the San Fransisco kingdom) and for the last 21 years she has been in the Senate. Wasting that many years in the political system will give anybody mental issues. Imagine if you literally wasted 31 years of your life threatening innocent people with state violence. Could you live with yourself? Would you be able to maintain your sanity? I don’t think most people could do either. Honestly, I almost feel sorry for the woman. She’s 79, has done nothing of value with her life, and have only a few short years remaining.

“Assault Weapon” Ban Won’t be Part of the Federal Gun Control Package

Dianne Feinstein, war profiteer extraordinaire, has had her agenda pushed back slightly. As it turns out Feinstein’s coveted “assault weapon” ban won’t be part of the gun control package offered for a vote on the Senate floor:

Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) said on Monday that a controversial assault weapons ban will not be part of a Democratic gun bill that was expected to reach the Senate floor next month.

After a meeting with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) on Monday, a frustrated Feinstein said she learned that the bill she sponsored — which bans 157 different models of assault weapons and high-capacity ammunition magazines — wouldn’t be part of a Democratic gun bill to be offered on the Senate floor. Instead, it can be offered as an amendment. But its exclusion from the package makes what was already an uphill battle an almost certain defeat.

The ban is supported by more than a dozen Senate Democrats and the White House, as well as gun-control groups.

My money is on Feinstein offering her ban as an amendment. She’s very zealous in her pursuit of disarming all of the serfs she’s not making money on through her ties to the military industrial complex. It’ll be interesting to see if she becomes more unhinged as her political power further unravels.

Why Didn’t Anybody Tell Me My LR-308 Could Blow Up Railroads

I want to know why nobody informed me that my LR-308 could knock jets flying at 30,000 feet out of the air and blow up railroads:

Rev. Jesse Jackson on Sunday repeated the debunked claim that semi-automatic and so-called assault weapons can “shoot down airplanes” — and added that they can also “blow up railroads.”

“Semi-automatic weapons are not just about gun control, they’re about national security,” Jackson said on Fox News. “You know that these weapons can shoot down airplanes, they can blow up railroads. This is really a whole national security issue.”

I’m also curious how I unlock this feature on my rifle. In three-gun competitions I use it to shoot at steel plates and it fails to penetrate them so I have a hard time understanding how it could blow up a railroad. Is there a special type of ammunition I’m supposed to use? Are there occult rituals I need to perform? Would somebody tell me how the hell I can get these features working? Shouldn’t shit like this be in the owner’s manual?

Not Exactly the Million Mom March

This weekend gun control advocates had their little match on Washington DC. Most news organizations seem tight lipped regarding the number of people who participated in the march but it doesn’t seem like it garnered much support:

Thousands of people have rallied in Washington DC calling for stricter gun controls as they marched from the Capitol to the Washington Monument.

Gun control advocates were only able to get thousands of attendees? That’s rather, well, pathetic. Here in Minnesota we had roughly 1,200 gun rights advocates march on the state Captiol on a cold windy winter day. It seems that gun control isn’t nearly as popular as it once was, which is good to see.

Checkmate

So somebody went and designed a magazine that can be created using a 3D printer. Not only did they design such a magazine but they tested it and it worked very well. This demonstrates the futility of a magazine ban. Combining a box with a spring isn’t exactly rocket science, in fact boxes and springs have been used by humanity for centuries.

I still think the best defense against any firearm-related prohibition is to take a page from alcohol prohibition and the prohibition of some drugs. During the era of alcohol prohibition people were still able to get alcohol. From bootleggers to people making bathtub gin there was no way to enforce the prohibition. Even if you wanted to spend a night on the town you had options in the form of speakeasies, which were secret locations where individuals wanting to socialized over drinks could go. The current prohibition on some drugs has proven to be similarly futile. Those wanting to buy verboten drugs can generally do so easily. We must do the same with firearms. By making firearms and related accessories so prevalent we can render any prohibition irrelevant. The prevalent availability of cannabis has not only rendered the prohibition almost entirely meaningless but it has also allowed advocates of cannabis legalization to point to example after example of people using the plant to no ill effect. Advocates of gun rights have done a similar job with firearms. By making firearms so prevalent in society we’ve prevented many individuals from believing prominent gun ownership is dangerous to society. In the case of a prohibition we would have to step up production to ensure firearms become even more widely available.

Pot See Kettle, Calls it Black

Sometimes the abject hatred gun control advocates hold for anybody who disagrees with them is so blatant not even the densest of men can miss it. Consider Gawker, an online media company that is, rightfully, held in a fairly low regard with a great deal of the Internet. Reporting found on Gawker websites can range from poor to abysmal and sometimes even involves overt hypocrisy, as is the case with John Cook’s article titled Here Is a List of All the Assholes Handsome Law-Abiding Citizens Who Own Guns Some People in New York City. In all fairness the author admits that his title isn’t entirely accurate as he doesn’t believe all gun owners are assholes:

(And for the record, they are not all assholes. Some of them need guns for legitimate reasons for their jobs, like providing security for assholes.)

As the title of the article implies, Mr. Cook decided to point out his belief that most gun owners are assholes by being an asshole. He posted a list of every name of every gun permit holder in New York City. Nothing demonstrates the vileness of your intellectual opposition like attempting to publicly shame them. Fortunately gun ownership in the United States is still generally accepted rendering Mr. Cook’s attempt at public shaming almost entirely ineffective.

I appreciate the actions taken by gun control advocates such as Mr. Cook. Their childish antics demonstrate a lack of maturity and put into question their sanity, which makes my job much easier. I hope Mr. Cook invests the great deal of time necessary to comb through the phone book in an attempt to tie addresses (which he was angry about not receiving) to names. Such a holy mission would take a great deal of time and that would hopefully keep him too busy to write articles, which would help his employer save some face by not having articles appearing on their front page that appear to be written by a person with questionable sanity.

Illinois Gun Ban Stopped for Now

Apparently the gun control advocates of Illinois were unable to get the votes necessary to ram through the gun control amendments . They’ve been pushed back for now:

There’s not enough support in the Illinois Senate to impose tough new restrictions on semiautomatic weapons and high-capacity ammunition clips.

In a setback for gun-control advocates in the wake of the killings of school children in Connecticut, the Illinois Senate was poised to adjourn Thursday without voting on two pieces of legislation aimed at limiting access to certain kinds of weapons and bullets.

Hopefully things remain this way but we all know the politician’s mantra is “If at first you don’t succeed try again harder.” Although I doubt the proposed ban would hold up in court if passed it would still required resources to be invested in, what would likely be, a long drawn-out court battle.

I Think It’s Time to Implement Plan B

In the aftermath of the Connecticut shooting the rate at which us gun owners are being sold down the river is probably the only thing in the universe that is actually faster than light. Former suporters of gun rights have come out in support of gun control and companies that previously profited from mutual exchange with us are now terminating our mutual relationship. We have been shown that those who enjoyed our support are willing to abandon us to the zombie hordes. Since we cannot rely on others we should band together with one another, we should begin implementing Plan B.

What is Plan B? Plan A was using the political means in order to preserve gun rights so Plan B a strategy to preserve our gun rights by using non-political means. Plan B consists of using modern household manufacturing technology to produce firearms at such a rate that cannot be controlled. Pioneers are making progress in this endeavor and we need to help. Right now gun control advocates are calling for another “assault weapon” ban. The only proper response to such a ban is to begin manufacturing firearms that are prohibited by “assault weapon” bans as fast as possible. Make it so anybody wanting an AR-15 can produce one. Work together with fellow gun owners to create decentralized manufacturing lines of AR-15s. Pool resources to purchase machining equipment. Decentralize production to prevent these manufacturing lines from being shutdown easily. Setup redundancies.

Consider the following. An AR-15 is, legally speaking, an easily reproduced milled out block of aluminum. One can punch out AR-15 lowers on computer numerical control (CNC) machines, which are becoming more affordable every day. If several gun owners pooled their resources together they could purchase a couple of these machines and operate them at separate locations. Designated members of the group could manufacture AR-15 lowers while other members could purchase machines necessary for the production of barrels. Legally recognized firearm manufactures may be prohibited from producing AR-15 rifles but that doesn’t mean manufacturing such rifles is impossible, it merely means production needs to take place “underground.”

Organizing in cells is often considered a tactic utilized only by terrorists but such tactics have also been utilized by radical groups throughout the ages. Radical groups have traditionally developed under tyrannical states. Eventually things become so bad that individuals are willing to risk standing against the state’s decrees to fight for what they believe in. As gun owners we must recognize that we are, in fact, now radicals. We are advocating for social reform, namely the transfer of power from the state back to the people. As radicals we are also future targets of the state’s aggression. Every shooting rekindles the state’s drive to increase its power and reduce our own. Politicians, like vultures, descend on the copses of those killed with firearms and gorge themselves. They know that by exploiting tragedy they can increase their hold on the people by getting a majority of them to voluntarily cede power. What stands between the state and absolute power are those who refuse to capitulate. If we want to have any chance of maintaing our gun rights we must refuse to capitulate, we must actively resist our aggressors. By working in cells we can ensure that stomping us out will be very expensive. By manufacturing verboten firearms we can actively resist the state’s attempt to grab power. In the end we can make gun control irrelevant.
