Bloomberg’s Group Looses Another One

Good news from the NRA ILA. Mayor Marlene Anielski of Village of Walton Hills, Ohio has left the deceptively named Mayors Against Illegal Guns. Apparently she was unaware of the organizations true objective, to stop firearm ownership in America, and has resigned membership upon learning it. Furthermore she and her husband are both life members in the NRA.

Good on you Mayor Anielski for leaving the group. And good on both you and your husband for being life members in an organization that isn’t deceptive about what it does.

When Health Care Meets Firearm Registration

Britain has yet another trick up it’s sleeves to use against those few remaining gun owners in Britain. The British Medical Association wants to tag the health records of those few who have firearms in Britain. For those of you unaware there are means of owning a long gun or shotgun in Britain if you are willing to jump through enough hoops and the police OK you.

This latest pile of bullshit strives from the following:

Last August Bank Holiday Mr Foster killed his wife and 15-year-old daughter before setting fire to their home at Maesbrook, near Oswestry, and killing himself.

It emerged at the inquest into the deaths that Christopher Foster had been suffering from depression and had mentioned suicidal thoughts to his GP.

The British government wants it’s citizens completely disarmed, that’s apparent. They have abolished handguns and most long guns. The problem is there are some means of getting certain long guns. An easy way to do that is to link a gun registry system with a health care system.

See since Foster was suicidal this opens the door to say all gun owners are potential sufferers of depression and suicidal tendencies. After all anybody can become depressed at some point in their life. Likewise a suicidal person can decided to take some people with them. Guns are a method of doing it but so is blowing up your car, burning down your home after dousing it in kerosene, stabbing people to death, and even suffocating sleeping people with pillows. The point is there is no way you can take away all the potential weapons a murdering asshole can use.

The scariest part of this though is it puts doctors in a position to determine if you can continue owning your firearms. Think about it for a second. You have an anti-gun doctor and he sees you own firearms when he looks at your medical record. He knows all that needs to be done to take away your firearms is a call to the police saying you are suffering from depression. Instantly your firearm licenses are revoked. Similarly it’s not hard to say somebody is suffering from depression, anybody can be considered depressed.

Of course the anti-gun pricks in Britain love this idea. Just ask Chrissie Hall the spokesperson from Infer Trust a group that says to offer support for people affected by gun violence (which should be impossible in Britain since they have such strict gun laws and a complete ban on handguns and an almost complete ban on everything else):

Anything that makes life safer for individuals who live in a house where there is a weapon, Infer Trust would be keen to support.

Anything? ANYTHING? A-n-y-t-h-i-n-g? Well fuck they must be all for cutting off the hands and feet of everybody in Britain since punching and kicking is often used as a weapon, many times to kill. Knives are weapons so we should probably tag the medical records of anybody with a knife in the house. Large sticks can be used as weapons to, better tag the medical records of those who have trees in their lawn of any size. Cars to are used as weapons thats another tag to add to medical records.

Of course somebody has some common sense there yet. The mental health charity Mind doesn’t agree with this (not for all the right reasons but at least they aren’t agreeing):

Spokeswoman Katie Prior said: “The link between violence and mental health problems is often grossly exaggerated. Any tragedies that do occur are terrible, but it’s important to recognise that such cases are rare.”

She said people with mental health problems were extremely unlikely to be dangerous: “In fact, research shows that they are are more likely to be the victims of crime than the perpetrators.”

Wait what’s that most people with mental problems aren’t violent? They are more often the victims of crimes? No shit Sherlock. Most people who suffer from depression never commit suicide and of those who do very few of them try to take others with them.

Another problem is trying to link gun owners with mental illnesses. Claiming that medical records of gun owners need to be tagged because they could be depressed is akin to saying gun owners are a special breed of people who are more likely to be mentally fucked up.

Then you just have to love this statistic:

After the inquest into the deaths, Christopher Foster’s estranged brother, Andrew, spoke publicly about his relationship with his brother and the need for greater control over the issuing of gun licences.

He said he had done some research into the subject: “There are 27,000 licensed gun holders in West Mercia alone and 25% will be treated for depression.

“That means 6,500 gun holders are suffering from depression and yet there is no communication between doctors and the police for people who are feeling suicidal.”

I wonder what qualifies as research in his mind. Maybe he did some Google searches like the Violence Police Center is known to do. Either way without a source these numbers are beyond useless. But rest assured they will be cited.

Fuck the British government. Why the Hell the citizens didn’t revolt when the government started taking their arms is beyond me. The first step of a fascist government is to disarm the populace.

This Just in Ted Kennedy is Still Dead

Well it seems official, Ted Kennedy is still dead. Apparently they are having a public viewing so I’m assuming they didn’t even need to drive a stake through his heart to keep him down. That’s a little surprising for me. Maybe somebody who is going to the funeral should do that just to be sure though.

Good riddance you bastard. Getting away with murder just because of the family you hail from shouldn’t be legal in this country, but he proved it is. Then again I guess it’s not murder when you drive your car into a body of water and swim away while leaving the other passenger to her death. Nope that’s not murder that’s cowardice and being an accessory to murder.

I hope you get into Heaven just so Mary Jo Kopechne has her chance to kick your ass.

Real Gun vs. Nail Gun

A funny story from Says Uncle. A moron in Jacksonville, Florida entered a bar waiving around a nail gun. The bar tender took this act as a robbery attempt and responded in kind. The nail gun wielding individual received rounds from a real gun and died on the spot.

Remember when it’s a battle between a nail gun and a real gun the real gun will always win unless there is some fluke.

The Weapons of District 9

There is a great write up over at the Firearms Blog detailing the weapons of District 9. Like everything else District 9 actually got the weapons right as well, using proper firearms for the area (South Africa). They also use the weapons in the proper ways. Head over there and take a read, and don’t worry if you haven’t seen the movie the article doesn’t contain any spoilers other than the weapons use.

Seriously this movie has done so much right. It’s truly one of the great science fiction movies of the decade.

An Even Trade

The death of Mr. Kuhn is tragic but it looks like it ended in an even trade. Devote anti-freedom senator of Massachusetts, Ted Kennedy, has also died. Although death is never a good thing nor would I wish death on most people but I’m certainly not shedding tears here. Some people say you shouldn’t talk bad about the dead. I personally think you should talk honestly about the dead.

Former senator Kennedy was a bastard to say the least. I’m not just talking about the fact he was anti-gun either. Look up the Chappaquiddick incident which is where the phrase “Ted Kennedy’s car has killed more people than my guns” comes from. He also tried pushing government controlled health care on us after he got cancer, which he said made him realize the need. Bullshit he was rich enough to afford the best medical treatment, but hey I’m sure the current administration will use Kennedy’s death as a mean to push the public health care bill through.

Anyways I’m not glad he’s dead but I’m certainly not sad either.

One of Our Own was Murdered

Sad news today, gun rights activist, Carl Kuhn has died. To make matters worse he was murdered by a former client of his. An ex-con by the name of Terry Bratcher who has become friends with Mr. Kuhn suffocated the activist with a pillow. After killing him the bastard stole his gun collection which were later recovered in West Chicago.

I’ve heard a couple off hand remarks saying guns killed Mr. Kuhn as they were the reason behind the murder. But I’m going to say most of us would probably not be expecting somebody we consider a friend to murder us. Hence when that former friend moved into to kill us we wouldn’t be ready to put up a proper defense. This case is also slightly different being Mr. Kuhn was 82 and the murdering bastard is 43, so there is a bit of a physical capability difference. This just goes to show once again anybody can be a potential threat, even if you consider them a threat. Sad but true.

Illinois claims another person.

Al Gore’s Apocalypse on Trial

Finally some potentially sensible news. The United States Chamber of Commerce want to hold a hearing on man made global warning, also known as Al Gore’s apocalypse. The are pushing to Environmental Protection Agency to do a similar case to Scopes monkey trial:

Chamber officials say it would be “the Scopes monkey trial of the 21st century” — complete with witnesses, cross-examinations and a judge who would rule, essentially, on whether humans are warming the planet to dangerous effect.

“It would be evolution versus creationism,” said William Kovacs, the chamber’s senior vice president for environment, technology and regulatory affairs. “It would be the science of climate change on trial.”

Of course global warming is still a theory as no scientific evidence against it is usually allowed funding to the privilege of being published. As most of you know it’s not global warming itself I hate (although I don’t believe it) it’s the way it’s being treated as a religion as a means to make money. Al Gore is making a ton of money on programs like “carbon offsets” so he has an invested interest in global warming sticking around. The government can gain a lot of control via regulations meant to control global warming, and many companies stand to make lots of money off of “green” technology. On top of that all these people are working very hard to suppress anybody who has evidence against global warming. This not only makes me suspicious but it makes me believe the whole thing is a scam as no actual proof of it’s existence has been presented by a neutral source.

Until it’s treated as science, where everybody gets a say, it’s bull shit.

Wait what’s that? The Environmental Protection Agency, who also stands to receive a lot of funding due to global warming, is against the idea of a trial? Really:

The EPA is having none of it, calling a hearing a “waste of time” and saying that a threatened lawsuit by the chamber would be “frivolous.”

EPA spokesman Brendan Gilfillan said the agency based its proposed finding that global warming is a danger to public health “on the soundest peer-reviewed science available, which overwhelmingly indicates that climate change presents a threat to human health and welfare.”

Funny that, I’d like to see this peer-reviewed science that was reviewed by a party who doesn’t stand to make a ton of money on global warming. I’m waiting.
