People Want End to Mandatory Law Requiring Swiss Citizens to Own Military Rifles

Once again Says Uncle links to another interesting story. Apparently some whiny bitches concerned citizens are looking to change the law in Switzerland that requires males serving in the military to store a military rifle at home. Because of research what happens when you disarm a country I’m bias against laws restricting firearms. But I’m also willing to hear the debate so let’s take a look at both sides. First off the side of logical thought civilians owning guns:

Heim gets it. See Nazi Germany required civilians to register all guns with the government. Shortly afterwards the government confiscated all the registered guns. After the guns were confiscated and the civilian populace was defenseless the government started rounding up “undesirables” and sending them to death camps where they were gassed by the millions. Had the civilian populace been armed they could have fought back against the government.

OK let’s hear the other side of the argument:

While gun crime is relatively low in Switzerland, more than 300 people a year are killed military rifles, the majority of them suicides. Recently efforts for more regulation have been picking up. And a certain faction of people want military rifles stored in army barracks, rather than peoples cellars.

So you’re saying that people taking their own lives with firearms is justification for disarming the populace? I have a newsflash for those who think this, people taking their own lives can do so without a gun. If a lack of guns had anything to do with suicide rates how to you explain Japan where guns are practically forbidden but the suicide rate is very high? This might come as a surprise but if I wanted to kill myself I could hang myself or slit my wrists with a knife. But the harsh truth of the matter is if somebody takes their own life that is their business and so long as they aren’t trying to take somebody else with them it’s their choice. Meanwhile if you disarm the populace you create a situation where people can not defend themselves against an outside force meaning to do harm.

Also the sheer idiocy of trying to compare 300 deaths by firearms to six MILLION deaths by government hands is ludicrous at best. Those deaths in Switzerland are .005% of the number of deaths caused by the Nazi government in Germany. How can people say the situation of a disarmed populace is better? How can people honestly be that stupid?

Shocking News of the Day

I hope you’re sitting down because this news is so shocking, so surprising, so impossible to predict that you will most likely shit yourself upon reading it. United Nations inspectors have gone on record saying North Korea’s human right situation is abysmal!

Really did anybody expect otherwise? North Korea is ruled by a man who uses fear of outside forces to show the country needs him.

Because You Suck, We Hate You, But We Want Your Money

H&K may think you suck and hate you but they also want your money. Because of this notable fact they are rather angry at the Australian government. The Australian government placed a ban on importation of the H&K R8. The R8 itself is a special version of their SL8 which has the gas system removed so the gun functions like a bolt action rifle. This is required since Australian subjects can’t own semi-automatic rifles.

Well according to the Australian government claims the rifle is too similar to the G36 and have barred it’s importation. Now H&K not only thinks you suck and hate you but they feel the same about the Australian government. Honestly I agree with H&K on this point.

Cynicism Strikes Again

Although I original read this story in a local news paper I was unable to find a corresponding link. Hence you get this one that reeks of government run health care. The story is about the American Cancer Society all of the sudden determining doctors may be over screening for breast and prostate cancers. From the story:

“We don’t want people to panic,” said Dr. Otis Brawley, chief medical officer of the cancer society. “But … the advantages to screening have been exaggerated.”

The cancer society does not advocate prostate-cancer screening for all men.

And many researchers point out that the PSA-screening test for prostate cancer has not been shown to prevent cancer deaths.

I guess I wouldn’t think too much about this if it wasn’t for the fact the health care bill is being ramrodded through. It seems a little too convenient that a operating is all of the sudden deemed over done when the government may soon be footing the bill for a lot of these operations. Maybe I’m just a little too cynical but it seems this would be an easy way for the government to save itself some money.

With Time All Things Can and Will Happen

It’s true given enough time anything can happen. For instance I swung over to The Firearm Blog and found out Hell will soon be importing heavy Russian winter coats. Apparently The Saudi market will have something new for sale, handguns! From the article:

Saudis will be able to buy handguns and other personal firearms openly for the first time, the country’s interior ministry has anounced.

Why? Well because:

The move is aimed at reining in the widespread illegal ownership of handguns and assault weapons, a Saudi official said.

Apparently making gun ownership illegal doesn’t stop people from getting guns. Who knew? We’ll have to see if this affects their crime rate and if blood will flow through the streets like the anti-gun crowd claim happens when you loosen gun control laws.

Best Talk on Al Gore’s Apocalypse I’ve Heard

OK last week I attended a speech by Christopher Monckton. The subject at hand was Al Gore’s apocalypse, a.k.a. global warming, a.k.a. climate change, a.k.a. CO2 is going to kill us all. Mr. Monckton presented a lot of great information and showed how those who are claiming CO2 is causing “global warming” (even though we’ve been in a cooling trend for a few years) have lied.

And You Thought Your Gas Was Expensive

So you think you pay a lot at the pump for a gallon of fuel? I got news for you, you don’t pay shit. Via No Agenda I found how much money per gallon of fuel our boys in Afghanistan pay. The price after considering transportation costs, security, et cetera is on average $400.00 a gallon. No I didn’t accidentally carry a decimal point to far over. So what do our people in congress have to say about it? Well Rep. John Murtha says:

It is a number that we were not aware of and it is worrisome,

Yeah I guess they never calculated the cost of fuel to run our machines of war. Well guess what it’s not cheap. Of course it’s only worrisome not fucking outrageous. Seriously these little wars are bankrupting out country fast.

Because our Government has Nothing Important to Do

You know I just love the random and weird stories I find on Dvorak Uncensored. But sometimes they depress me. Because there is an apparent lack of actual issues to deal with Representative Anna Eshoo from, wait for it, California has introduced the Commercial Advertisement Loudness Mitigation Act (the acronym is CALM, very clever Mrs. Eschoo).

What does it do? Well it would require the FCC to enforce a rule that television commercials can’t be “unreasonably” loud. Yup while our country is in an economic depression, our money is becoming worthless, we’re at war with several nations, we have government striving for more control over the health care industry, and the PATROIT Act is still in force somebody decided to waste time with the volume of television commercials. You’r tax money at work.

Governor Schwarzenegger Just Shafted California

Via Snowflakes in Hell we have some bad news for those of you in California, the Governator just sighed AB 962. Sure it won’t help actually deter criminals who will simply steal, purchase through straw men, or purchase their ammunition out of state. This of course is irrelevant since California’s motto is, “any law will pass so long as it inconveniences the law abiding gun owner and doesn’t cause any difficulties to the criminals.” I’m guessing California is just trying to see if there is a critical number of laws that, if enacted, with actually cause criminals to stop breaking them.

Those of you in California can look forward to surrendering your personal information and thumb print EVERY time you purchase ANY handgun ammunition. Yesterday’s episode of Truth About Guns dealt with this exact subject hence I don’t have much further to say. All I can add though is to expect a state-wide scam to ban handguns all together in the near future.

I will provide these pieces of information though. Here are the vote break downs for the California assembly and the California senate. You Californians have your job cut out for you as you need to work hard to vote out every one of the people in those lists who voted yes.

Al-Qaeda Planned to Use Large Hadron Collider to Destroy the Earth

See the headline for this article? Yeah well I came up with it myself so when you see it in the newspaper tomorrow don’t try to say I stole it. Anyways one of the employees at Cern was arrested due to suspected links to Al-Qaeda. For those of you outside of the loop Cern is the organization who controls the Large Hadron Collider that is supposed to be used to create miniature black holes.

Apparently Al-Qaeda was plotting to use this contraption to destroy the entire world, at least that’s what the media will be saying tomorrow. Apparently during questioning the arrested man said that he was put in place in order to steal the black hole generation technology. Once this technology was in the hands of Al-Qaeda they would use it to create a black hole bomb in an attempt to destroy all infidels in the world.
